Celebrity Dinner was held on Wednesday May 14th 2008 at Guelph Place Banquet Hall,
Guelph.
Headliner was RED KELLEY along with this year's Sports Hall of Fame inductees:
Al Moore, for hockey, in the Builder category.
- Involved with Minor Hockey since 1949 as a coach, manager,
convener, and vice president
- Awarded the William Berry Award by GMHA in 1964
- Elected to Ontario Minor Hockey Association Executive in 1964
- Elected as President of Ontario Minor Hockey Association in 1977
- Traveled to Europe nine times with Midget and Bantam teams from
Ontario.
- Hosted overseas hockey teams traveling in Ontario
Ron Scott, for hockey, in the Athlete category.
- Played with New York Rangers and L.A. Kings in the NHL
- Played Guelph Minor Hockey
- Played Jr. ’B’ with Hespeler Shamrocks
- Played Jr. ’A’ with Cornwall Royals - Memorial Cup Winners
1979/80
- Terry Sawchuck Award – shared - CHL leading goaltender 1983/84
Jane Doane, for track and field, in the Veteran Athlete category.
- Gold Medalist, at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, in the 4x100 relay
- Member of Canadian Sports Hall of Fame
- 1st Canadian women to run in the summer Olympics
- Competed in the1928 Millrose Games in New York City
- CNE by invitation only, 1923 first time women participated
Terry Gregson, in the Officials category.
- Referee for 25 years in the NHL
- Refereed in Europe
The 1930 Maple Leaf Professional Hockey Team, in the Team category.
