Tribute Through Talk

Kiwanis paid tribute to Remembrance Day at our Thursday, November 10th meeting by inviting guests and family members, and having someone come in to speak to the group. We were fortunate enough to hear from Linda Learn, Silver Cross mother of Pte. Mark Anthony Graham who was killed by ‘friendly fire’ on September 4, 2006 in Panjwaii, Afghanistan.

Many Kiwanians participated in the Random Acts of Kindness day, but we decided to spread the activities over two days. On Friday, November 4th, we helped out at Hopewell Homes, and on Saturday, November 5th, we helped out at Shelldale School.

90th Anniversary Dinner

90th Anniversary Celebration Was a Hit!

So, the 90th Anniversary of the Kiwanis Club has come and gone and we celebrated with an amazing dinner at Cutten Fields! The evening started with cocktails and schmoozing by some of our members, their friends and family, and local politicians, such as the City of Guelph’s MP Frank Valeriote, Guelph’s MPP Liz Sandals, Guelph’s Mayor Karen Farbridge, and Kiwanis’ District Lt. Governor Shelley Des Cotes.
