VIP (Values, Influences and Peers) Program

This program has been endorsed by the Public and Separate school boards in Guelph, with all Grade Six classes participating.

Through the joint efforts of educators, local police forces and the Kiwanis Club of Guelph, the program has been honed and refined and has been offered for many years now, to students at an age when they are particularly vulnerable to the temptations of life while not yet having the experience to deal with them.

Students learn through role playing, how to judge for themselves what is right and wrong, and how to resist the pressure of their peers when they are offered ... in particular, alcohol, drugs and smoking materials.

As Kiwanians, we are proud to be involved with this program. We demonstrate that interest to the students when a Kiwanis member attends the presentation of a certificate and badge to each student at the Graduating Ceremony for these classes.
